“The Burr Oak City Library is a tiny public library in north central Kansas, run entirely by caring volunteers. Although we may be small, we have a great heart for homeschoolers and those who feel called to enrich their children’s lives through quality literature and educational resources.

Our library has been blessed by several recent grant awards, which have enabled us to purchase homeschool resources for our local patrons. We would like to offer them for checkout to ALL library users across the state through the Inter Library Loan (ILL) program.

Items recently acquired as resources for homeschoolers include the “Literature List” consisting of Readers and Read-Alouds (family reading participation) from Sonlight Curriculum®. These booklists are not unique to Sonlight but are
classics used in many other popular homeschool curricula, including: Learning Language Arts Through Literature®, All Through the Ages®, Ambleside Online®, K-12®, Learning Adventures®, and Bob Jones®. We hope to add more of the higher-level readers this year.

Our “DVD/VHS List” includes many titles that you will not find in most public libraries. The science sets were
chosen specifically to counteract popular evolutionary hypotheses with Creationist theory.

We are aware that the public library is a vital resource to homeschool families, whose resources are already
strained after paying taxes towards the public library AND purchasing their own curriculum. WE WANT TO HELP!
