The MWGEA grants scholarships to high school students on one occasion per high school graduate These are given in recognition of her prior golf achievements, overall academic record and community service activities.

If you are already receiving a full collegiate scholarship, you are not eligible. The value of the award alone or in combination with other aid, shall not exceed the value of a full grant-in-aid.

Disbursement of the scholarship will be made directly to the college or university for the recipient’s educational expenses when she attend that institution. The choice of institution shall not be restricted by this Association.

All MWGA Scholarships will be awarded by the recommendation of the MWGEA Scholarship Committee.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a United States citizen.
  2. Must be a female residing in the state of MO or in Johnson County, KS.
  3. Must submit at least 3 personal references from unrelated sources, one of which must be from a faculty member.
  4. Must submit a copy of your high school transcript.
  5. Must submit a statement of your involvement in golf; MO Women’s Golf Association (MVGA), MSHAA. others.
  6. Must submit a statement of your involvement in community and school activities. Include any local, state or national honors/awards.
  7. Must submit a statement indicating your reason(s) for wanting to further your education and your future career goals/plans.
  8. Must submit a statement of your financial need.

 

The recipient will be notified by email, if provided, or by postal letter, no later than May 10, 2012.

Application must be typed and all sections completed. Please submit the typed application and all pertinent statements and transcripts in a sealed envelope by USPS to:

All recipients will be honored at a reception during the MWGA Junior Championship to be held at Lake Valley Golf Club on June 6, 2012.
