Several years ago in Blue Springs, and Lee’s Summit, I had some home-schooled students who volunteered at my nursing home. They were the nicest young people I have ever had to help with activities. There is a variety of volunteer “jobs” that the students can do. The young children are always welcome to just come and sing or read a poem, etc. The middle school students can help decorate, crafts, movies, bingo, etc. The high school students can help with a newsletter, i.e. writing features about the residents, etc.
