Hands-on homeschool Christmas giving project!

homeschool christmas giving project

How would you like to help homeschool families in Kansas City this Christmas AND give your children a hands-on unit study in practical giving?

Introducing our 2018 homeschool Christmas giving project!

Some families in our organization occasionally need a little help. We wanted to show our love and gratitude by blessing them this Christmas like we did last year.

If you are interested in helping us, please use this Sign Up Genius link for specific gift ideas.

As always, generic gift cards (QT, Walmart, Target, Hy-Vee, Amazon) and non-perishable items (food and paper products) are always great gift ideas as well.

Please bring your unwrapped gifts to the MPE office. The office has moved to a new location and is not located at Providence Church.

All donations must be brought to the MPE office by Tuesday, Dec. 18.

The office is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, but can accept donations outside office hours as well. Please call 913-599-0311 before arriving to ensure somebody is here to receive your donation.

How our homeschool Christmas giving project started

This idea came courtesy of an MPE member who’d like to remain anonymous:

My family does a Christmas giving project each year where we take the money we would normally spend on gifts for extended family members and try to bless a local family somehow with it. I would like our group to consider helping a homeschool family this year, so I was wondering if you knew of any local families who are in serious financial need, whether from medical bills, lost job, or something else. We try to give in an anonymous way so the family doesn’t feel uncomfortable or anything.

It turns out that we did! We now feature this as an annual event for our organization. You can help in two ways:

1. Contribute gifts through our Sign Up Genius form.

The form is here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080c4eaaa722a1f85-christmas1

Please drop off any gifts at the MPE office by Tuesday, Dec. 18.

2. Provide a monetary gift.

You can drop off any cash gifts at the MPE office, which we will distribute to those in need.

If you want a tax-deductible receipt, please donate to MPE and specify that you want your donation to go to the “Where Most Needed” fund. We will use any funds collected during the month of December for this Christmas giving project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us for more information.

Thanks so much!

The Bible says it is more blessed to give than receive. Here is a practical way to let your children practice this.
