At Sports Performance Youth Academy our mission is to provide young athletes and their families, opportunities and support for development in all aspects of life, while creating relationships within a genuine community atmosphere. Home School Band of Kansas City was started as a way to bring home schooled children together in a group band setting. Although home school students can easily take one on one lessons, there is a certain experience playing in a group that can’t be matched with private instruction.

We offer a YouTube channel with over 80 lessons on art for all levels and astronomy elementary through high school. We also have a Google Classroom and are offering camps downtown Kansas City and also at the beautiful Montauk State Park. We offer two camps; one is Art and Astronomy; the other is American history camp; 1910 through 1960. Both camps have two books that go with the camp. If you are interested in the activities offered, you can send me an email for a power point that goes over all the projects. The Urban Art and Astronomy camp is the first week of August in downtown KC. Contact us for dates of other camps. We also offer mentoring in art if you have a student wanting to go into one of the visual arts as a career. We will help them put a digital portfolio together. We also offer mentoring in astronomy.

The Animation Course is excited to connect with you about a class opportunity for your families! We are taking registrations right now for our Online Animation and Drawing Classes– with Spring, Summer and Fall Sessions! Founder and Teacher, Chad Stewart, has been an animator for over 30 years, working on films such as Tarzan, Emperor’s New Groove, and Polar Express, etc. Now he brings his wide experience—both from the professional animation field and from being an expert homeschooling dad—into teaching students ages 11-18 about this fascinating art form. As our 16-year homeschool journey has ended, we know how important it is to find great online classes, so we are excited to offer this instruction in art, which might enrich your families’ homeschooling endeavors! Each student is able to interact directly with Chad, and also receives personalized video feedback from industry professionals on every weekly assignment. Each student attends a class full of students that are just like them. Students interact with real people, receive encouragement, and are given personal guidance. We get it – while the non-professional theatre scene can offer many opportunities to the community, it’s often at the expense of care and excellence – both in quality of performances and the character of those putting on a show. Whether you’re an artist (or the parent of one) or an audience member, the desire to support and participate in local theatre and the reality of not finding places that challenge and inspire are often very conflicting. At A Place for Us Productions, we are passionate about our responsibility and part in raising the next generation of actors and artists in Kansas City.
