Launching this 2026-27 academic year, the MPE Moment features a team of active student journalists who will be collaborating on a range of creative projects for the Kansas City homeschool community.

These dedicated high schoolers will hone their writing, photography and research skills in real time by covering homeschool-related events, resources and activities in a monthly edition.

Viviana Carias is the managing editor of The MPE Moment. She has been publishing the Southland Sun for Southland Academy in the 2025-26 academic year. As a rising senior, she is passionate about telling meaningful stories and hopes to pursue a career in journalism.

Joshua Batsford has always been fascinated with content creation, having created a YouTube channel that has over 1500 subscribers. As a social media helper with the MPE Moment, he aims to create exciting and informative content for MPE social accounts.

Kennedy Haber is a rising senior with a love for the written word. As a member of the MPE Moment, Kennedy hopes to unite homeschooling families by making them aware of opportunities to connect throughout the city and at MPE.

Evie Neland is a rising freshman who loves the homeschool culture and community. Using her love of people, she hopes to bring light and joy into their lives through her work on the MPE Moment.

Jonah Cirrintano is an artist based out of the Kansas City area and specializes in most types of art. He is homeschooled and a junior in high school.

Joshua Eflin is a person who loves tech. He is almost done with high school and is going to be majoring in IT Networking. He will be helping out with any part of the technical aspect of the MPE Moment.

Hannah Simmons is a Junior in high school who also participated in writing the Southland Sun her Sophomore year. Hannah is an avid reader and writer and hopes to one day publish her own book, while still being a good student and steward of Faith.
