Launching this 2026-27 academic year, the MPE Moment features a team of active student journalists who will be collaborating on a range of creative projects for the Kansas City homeschool community.

These dedicated high schoolers will hone their writing, photography and research skills in real time by covering homeschool-related events, resources and activities in a monthly edition, starting in August.

The Team

Viviana Carias is the managing editor of The MPE Moment. She has been publishing the Southland Sun for Southland Academy in the 2025-26 academic year. As a rising senior, she is passionate about telling meaningful stories and hopes to pursue a career in journalism.
