Dual Enrollment Opportunities

Earn college credit while in high school with Missouri Western State University’s Early College Academy (ECA)!

At Missouri Western State University, we believe in giving students the opportunity to get a head start on their academic journey. ECA gives high school students (grades 9–12) the chance to earn college credit while completing general education courses, explore potential majors and careers, and taking part in applied learning opportunities. Dual credit and dual enrollment courses are built with your students in mind – maintaining college rigor while bringing a tiered approach to instruction and delivery. This program is designed to empower students to take control of their education, develop a deeper understanding of their future path, and gain valuable college experience—all while still in high school.

With over 75 different courses available, our online and in-person options make it easy to fit something for you. Whether fitting into a busy schedule, integrating offerings into your existing curriculum, or providing flexibility to students across the region, ECA aims to meet students where they’re at to help them get ahead. With tuition at just $99 per credit hour, this is an affordable way to make meaningful progress toward your college education, while saving time and money.

Classes and Tutoring

I am an experienced (10+ years) math and science tutor based out of the Kansas City area. I have an Electrical Engineering degree from Kansas State University, and I worked in the field for about 10 years. I started helping students out with their math and science needs, and I realized I found my passion! I have tutored students from elementary age to college age throughout the years. I am available during the morning and early afternoon hours for either in-person (Kansas City area) or online tutoring. I have helped out students with basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, physics, statistics, and business courses. During my years, I have worked with a large number of schools throughout the Kansas City area and made a number of contacts due to my dedication to my students. Please feel free to reach out to talk about possibilities and improving not only your child’s educational acumen but also their confidence. St. Athanasius and St. Catherine’s Academy is a classical, co-educational Catholic high school located in Kansas City, Missouri. The school implements the hybrid model by having students attend classes two days per week on Tuesday and Thursdays and have independent learning outside of the classroom. The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. with daily mass as part of the day at noon. Students will experience a similar format to college with a two-day per week class schedule that incorporates high expectation for personal responsibility and independent learning. In addition, the hybrid model allows for a more flexible schedule, opportunities for a part-time job, more quality time with your family, and other hobbies.

Standardized Testing

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) connects academic growth with opportunity—helping educators measure progress while opening doors to recognition for students.

The PSAT/NMSQT, given to both 10th and 11th graders, is designed to measure sequential growth of the core skills needed for any postsecondary pathway. It also provides practice and benchmarking for the spring SAT.

The PSAT/NMSQT is the only qualifying test for the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®).
