Dad’s Night Out Chili Cook-off Dinner

Our first Chili Cook-off in 2025 was such a success, we’re doing it again! Get those recipes ready and bring your favorite chili to share with other dads. Dinner and dessert will be provided by MPE for those not interested in bringing chili.

Dads will enjoy fellowship, a friendly chili competition dinner, a devotion, and dessert. All homeschool dads (or those considering homeschooling) are welcome!

with John Blackburn from The Forge

Dr. John Blackburn is the co-founder of The Forge, a faith-based organization for men to promote wise counsel and trusted friendships, where he serves as the Director of Counseling Services.

John has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biblical Education, a Master of Religious Education (MRE) degree, and a Doctor of Religious Studies (DRS) degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling.  

John founded Soul Care Services in 2019. He is a Board-Certified Professional Counselor (BCPC) and Certified Life Coach (CLC), certified by the Board of Christian Professional Counselors of the American Association of Christian Counselors and Coaches. Dr. John has further Certification through the United Association of Christian Chaplains and Counselors, International and is an active member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC). 

John and his wife, Beth, a.k.a, “Johnny and the Babe” have been happily married since 1982.  They have three grown and married children with twelve – yes twelve – grandchildren.

John’s passion areas are ministering to married and engaged couples, families, men, and caring for anyone in need.

Dr. John is the author of the book, “Keys to a Healthy, Happy, and Holy Marriage; Unlock the Full Potential in Your Relationship” (WestBow Press, 2024). Available now on Amazon.com or wherever you prefer to purchase books.
