USED CURRICULUM SALE
Our Used Curriculum Sale will be Thursday, June 8, at Journey Bible Church, 13700 W 151st St, Olathe, KS 66062. Admission is free for all buyers!
Timeline: Setup 5-6:15 p.m. Sale 6:15-8 p.m. Cleanup 8-9 p.m.
New to homeschooling?
If you’re a newbie homeschooler or just considering homeschooling for the first time, please come a little earlier and attend our FREE “How to Homeschool” workshop!
Dinner option
While both the homeschool workshop and used curriculum sale events are free, we’ve negotiated a special deal on dinners with the church’s Kindness Kitchen – warm, fresh, boxed meals at incredible prices especially for homeschool families!
These meals are lovingly created from scratch by the amazing Greg & Mary Reynolds, who have a combined 35 years of private catering experience. (They’re also retired homeschool parents!)
Each meal will contain chicken cream cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans, all warm and made on-site that evening.
Some details and reminders for Sellers tomorrow:
NEW DETAILS:
- Check-in for sellers starts at 4 p.m. this year. Please stop by the MPE table by the main doors and get your number for your table.
- There will NOT be a “FREE” area for you to place items in. Last year this area was not utilized how we envisioned. Please feel free to label your items as free and place them at your own table.
The ONLY entrance available for bringing stuff inside is the MAIN DOORS this year. We needed to make this change for safety reasons, as well as reasons involving facility cooling and maintenance. Please plan accordingly, and bring your own carts/wagons to haul stuff.
REMINDERS:
A few carts/wagons will be available to help you bring in your stuff, but these are very limited. We suggest you bring your OWN wagons and dollies if possible.
If you cannot come tomorrow for whatever reason, no refunds are available on booth reservation.
Preordered dinners will start being served at 5 p.m. at a table in the lobby area. You must pick up your own meals this year as we will not be chasing down sellers to deliver them. All meals must be picked up before 7 p.m. or else they will be forfeited with no refund.
If you didn’t preorder a dinner, a limited number will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at $8 per meal.
Do not leave any unsold curriculum without checking directly with Jen Simmons. MPE cannot accept anything older than 10 years. Only one box can be accepted per person as MPE has limited storage space for donated curriculum.
- Youth volunteers from MPE and Trail life Troop 0412 will be there again to help.
- ALL ITEMS MUST LEAVE WITH YOU at the end of the evening. Please plan to be completely out before 9 P.M.
Remember to bring enough change to serve your customers. You may also do electronic payments, but you will need to provide the information to your buyers on what payments you accept. For example, MPE will have a QR code for people to scan and submit payment information. They must show a receipt to our booth workers before taking the purchased items.

Overheard at previous used curriculum sales
- “We come every year and every year it’s a blessing and a huge savings in our wallet. Thank you again for putting this together year after year.” Ray and Sandra Ford
- “It was my first time to a curriculum sale since I was homeschooled 12 years ago! I felt like a kid in a candy store I didn’t buy much, but loved talking to all the parents who were so helpful and encouraging. A lot has changed since I was in school, so many more options. It was so wonderful to see so many homeschooling families in the area!” — Tracy Scarborough
- “Grateful for the event, thanks for organizing and offering this!” — Melissa Rousseau

I was looking at this event in the MPE app and it says June 2nd there and June 8th here…which one is it!?
Our apologies! The June 2nd event was last year (2022). June 8th is the current date for 2023! We’ve updated the app to reflect this year’s date.
